Question 1 of 6
Is your landlord trying to evict you?

Choose Yes if your landlord gave you a notice, you got court papers, or your landlord told you to leave.

What state do you live in?

Eviction rules are different in every state.

Have you already been locked out of your home?

Choose Yes only if you've already been removed or the locks have been changed. If you have a writ of possession or a sheriff's notice to vacate but you're still living there, choose No. You can still get help.

Where are you right now?

Court papers, filled in

Your Answer, a request to waive court fees, a request for more time, and more. Answer simple questions and the paper is ready.

Keep your proof in one place

See how it works

A short tour of the app, from your first question to your signed court papers.

How it works

  1. Tell us what's happening

Answer a few easy questions about your notice or court papers. No legal words needed.

  2. Get your plan and your dates

See what to do first, what can wait, and the last day for each step.

  3. Make your papers and show up ready

Fill in, sign and print your court papers and letters. Get a checklist for your court date.

Please don't wait.

Evictions move fast. In some states you have only 3 to 5 days to answer court papers. If you miss it, the judge can rule against you without ever hearing your side. The sooner you start, the more choices you have.

See if we can help

Questions tenants ask us

How much does it cost?

Our help costs $395 one time for 120 days of help, or $179 a month with no contract.

Is this a lawyer?

No. Eviction Help is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. It is a tool that helps you prepare your own papers, using your answers and your state's forms and rules. We also show you free legal aid in your state, and you can talk to a lawyer at any time.

Will this stop my eviction?

No one can promise that. What we can do is help you answer on time, use the rights your state gives you, ask for more time when the law allows it, and walk into court prepared. Many tenants lose only because they missed a deadline.

What if I can't pay my back rent?

The app can make a letter asking your landlord for a payment plan, and it shows you rental help programs in your state.

Do I need a computer?

No. Everything works on a phone, even an older one. You can take pictures of your papers with your phone's camera.

What if I already have a writ of possession or a sheriff's notice?

You may still have options. In many states you can ask the judge to pause the removal or give you more time to move, and if the deadline to appeal hasn't passed, you may be able to file an appeal. Some courts require a bond or rent paid into court. The app prepares the Request for More Time Before Removal and the Notice of Appeal. These deadlines are very short, sometimes only a day or two, so start today. If you've already been locked out, call 211 or free legal aid right away.

Your home is worth fighting for.
